Programs

Years 3 - 6

Tamborine Mountain College’s educational philosophy ensures that there is a strong emphasis on modern, innovative teaching programs based upon traditional values. Caring and committed teachers in well-equipped classrooms provide a balance between formal and child centered learning.

Extensive computer access is incorporated across the curriculum, at all year levels, with a sequential program to develop appropriate skills. The use of online learning initiatives enables the students to construct meaning, present knowledge and enhance their learning techniques.

Challenging teaching and learning activities in the Key Learning Areas of English, Mathematics, Science, History and the Social Sciences, Digital Technology, Health and Physical Education, The Arts, and French Culture and Language contribute to an all-encompassing curriculum. Excursions and special events are held throughout the year to enhance the learning process.

At Tamborine Mountain College we understand that the transition from Primary to Secondary can be challenging to navigate. To prepare students for this exciting change, we have developed a transition program called ‘Stairway to Seven’ to empower all Year 6 students to develop both academically and holistically as they progress through the College. The ‘Stairway to Seven’ program is designed to facilitate a smooth transition by building connections early on, introducing essential skills and familiarising the students with the learning environments and expectations of Secondary School.
